Short answer: For most people, yes. Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds, 10 on the Mohs hardness scale, for a fraction of the price of mined ones. Our lab grown studs cost $630 CAD for a 0.5 carat pair and $1,399 for a 2 carat pair in 14K gold. The trade-off is resale: lab prices have dropped for years, so buy them to wear, not as an investment.
Studs are where lab grown makes the most sense to a lot of people. You wear them every day, and the same budget buys a bigger pair. Here is what ours cost and where the catch is.
What do lab grown diamond studs cost?

Carat weight is the total for the pair. 14K white or yellow gold, CAD, listed October 2026. The same prices apply in all seven shapes: round, oval, pear, emerald, cushion, radiant and marquise.
When are they worth it, and when not?
- Worth it if you want to wear them every day, want a bigger pair for your budget, or want certified stones without paying natural prices.
- Think twice if resale matters to you. Natural diamonds hold their value better, and lab prices keep moving.

How big is each diamond?
Earring carat weights are the total for the pair, so a 2 carat pair is two diamonds of about 1 carat each. That matters for paperwork: every diamond of 1 carat and up comes with an IGI certificate, so pairs from 2 carats total come with certified stones.

What should I check on any pair of studs?
- Colour. Ask for the grade. Ours are E colour and up.
- The setting. Ours are four prong settings with push-backs.
- The certificate. Ask which stones have one. Ours do from 1 carat each.
