Frequently Asked Questions
About the Custom Process
Can I create a custom piece that isn’t a ring?
Yes, we offer bespoke jewelry services beyond rings. From one-of-a-kind necklaces to heirloom-quality bracelets, we’ll work closely with you to create a piece as unique as your story. Contact us via email or DM to begin.
What are the steps to create a custom ring?
We start with a complimentary estimate. After discussing your vision through a consultation, we produce a 3D CAD design for your approval. Once you’re happy with every detail, our artisans handcraft your piece before delivery.

How long does it take to create a custom ring?
The timeline varies based on design intricacy and gemstone availability. Custom rings typically take 10 to 14 weeks from consultation to completion. Made-to-order pieces have an estimated delivery window of ~8 weeks. All timelines are estimates and not guaranteed.
Can I cancel my order?
Once a rendering deposit or diamond sourcing deposit has been made, the order cannot be cancelled and the deposit is non-refundable. We encourage you to ask all questions and take as much time as you need before committing — our team is happy to provide a complimentary estimate with no obligation prior to any deposit being made.
How do I resize my ring?
| Service | In-Person | Shipped |
|---|---|---|
| Resizing | $100 | $200 |
| Sizing Beads | $150 | $200 |
Textured rings may require additional work.
Where are your rings made?
All of our rings are meticulously handcrafted right here in Toronto by our team of skilled artisans.
Diamonds & Certification
Are your diamonds conflict-free and ethically sourced?
Yes. We follow the Kimberley Process and work exclusively with suppliers who provide detailed origin documentation and certifications for every stone.
Is my ring authenticated & certified?
Engagement and wedding rings with stones 1 carat or larger include IGI Certification. Independent gemologist appraisals are also available for $100 CAD.
Can I supply my own diamonds?
Generally, we do not accept client-provided stones. However, exceptions may be made in certain cases — such as completed settings shipped to us for stone-setting. Please reach out to discuss your situation.
Payments & Shipping
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, as well as Apple Pay. Payment options are displayed at checkout.
Do I need to be available to sign for my package?
Yes — all shipments require a signature upon delivery. Please ensure someone is available to receive your order at the address provided. Smiro Studio is not responsible for lost or stolen packages once delivery has been confirmed by the carrier.
Am I responsible for duties and taxes on international orders?
Yes. All customs duties, import taxes, tariffs, and brokerage fees for international shipments are the sole responsibility of the client. These charges are not included in your order total. Please check with your local customs office for estimated fees before placing your order.
Warranty & Returns
Can I return my ring?
At Smiro Studio, we are dedicated to crafting a ring that you will cherish. We keep you involved at every step of the process, with you making the final decision. Once you agree to your final design, we will build your final engagement ring — at that point, the order is non-refundable. All sales are final. See our Return & Refund Policy for full details.
What is Smiro’s warranty after purchasing?
We are committed to standing behind our products. Our one-year warranty covers any production defects (not including the centre stone) from the date of purchase. Lost accent diamonds will be replaced within the warranty period. Any damage caused by improper care will be repaired at-cost.
Within the warranty period, Smiro Studio covers all shipping costs. Outside the warranty period, shipping is the client’s responsibility. Modifications made by another jeweller will void your warranty. See our Warranty page for full details.
