A small stone can go under the bridge, inside a tulip petal, or flush inside the band where you never feel it. Majuran's sapphire ring hides an aquamarine for March and an emerald for May. Initials can be built into the basket under the diamond, where they only show when the ring turns over. On one 3 carat oval an M sits on one side of the basket and a P on the other: hidden initials in the basket. Chen's marquise has initials on one side of the bridge inside floral engraving and pavé on the other. Names and dates inside the band are laser engraved; Megan's pear has a small Z inside hers. One couple wanted both birth flowers on the band: her January carnations and snowdrops down one side, his May lily of the valley and hawthorn down the other, meeting at the diamond.
