Engagement Ring CAD Design and 3D Renders

3D render of Cristhian's oval engagement ring in white gold, a six tulip setting on a split shank, on a pale background

Your engagement ring in CAD and 3D, approved by you before anything is made.

Every ring we make is drawn in CAD first. You mark up a technical drawing with the measurements, then spin a photoreal 360 render and approve it before anything is cast. Most rings take two or three rounds over about three weeks, and the render shows the details under the stone too.

Round one: the CAD file

The CAD file is a technical drawing of your ring with the measurements on it. This is where changes happen: a band a little thinner, prongs a little smaller, the basket a touch lower. Most people make one or two rounds of changes here. It's also where we plan room for a wedding band to sit flush. The full order of steps is in the custom ring process, step by step.

Round two: the 360 render

Next comes a photoreal render you can spin and see from every side, including the hidden halo, engraving or birthstone under the stone. You approve it before we cast anything. Once you approve the design the sale is final, which is why we take this step seriously. Where it sits in the whole timeline is on our custom ring process. Ideas for those hidden details are on personalized engagement rings.

Start from anything

Bring a photo, a screenshot, a sketch or an AI image. One client sent an AI image that became a 3 carat step cut Dutch marquise in a tulip basket, with three swirls on the band that connect into the gallery rail. AI images get the mood right but not what holds a stone, so we fix the prongs, proportions and room for a band in CAD. See engagement rings from an AI image.

Questions we get

Do I get to see my engagement ring before it's made?

Yes. You approve a CAD file with the measurements, then a 360 render. Nothing is cast until you approve.

How many design revisions do I get?

Most rings take two or three rounds. Changes happen on the CAD file, then you approve the render.

How long does the 3D design take?

About three weeks, and it starts with your deposit. Then about 8 weeks at the bench and delivery.

Can I change the design after I approve the render?

Once you approve the final design the ring is made and the sale is final, so we take the render round seriously.

Can you design from my sketch or an AI image?

Yes. Send it with a line on what you love about it, and we turn it into a ring that holds the stone and lasts.
