How Long Does a Custom Engagement Ring Take? Our Real Timeline

Short answer: About 11 weeks from deposit to your door: roughly 3 weeks of design, 6 weeks at the bench after you approve, and about 2 weeks to ship. Our site quotes 10 to 14 weeks to leave room for stone sourcing and extra design rounds. A Ready To Order Ring takes about 8 weeks.
If you have a proposal date in mind, count back from it. Here is exactly where the time goes, stage by stage.
How long does each stage take?

Design usually takes 2 to 3 rounds and about 3 weeks in total. Add it up and you get roughly 11 weeks from deposit to door.
Why do some rings take longer?
Three things stretch the timeline. A diamond that has to be sourced or custom cut from rough. Extra design rounds when an idea is still moving. And heavy hand work like full-band hand engraving. None of these are problems, they just need time, which is why our published range is 10 to 14 weeks.
Is there a faster option?
Yes. Our Ready To Order Rings skip the design rounds and take about 8 weeks. You still choose the diamond and metal.
When should I start?
Start earlier than you think you need to. If you are proposing on a specific date, we suggest starting at least 4 months out. That leaves room for a design round you did not plan on and for shipping without stress.
