Split shank or cathedral
A cathedral band rises in two arches to meet the head, then stops. A split shank opens into two strands and flows into the head with no end point. With a tulip basket the band looks like it grows into the petals.
The side by side is in split shank vs cathedral, and you can have both: a cathedral that splits near the head is a common hybrid.
