Half vs Full Eternity Band: Price, Stone Size and Resizing

Short answer: At the same total carat weight, our half, three quarter and full eternity bands cost about the same: a 2 carat round half eternity is $2,405 CAD and a 2 carat full eternity is $2,450 in 14K gold. The real differences are stone size, feel and resizing. A full band spreads the same weight all the way round, so each stone is smaller, and eternity bands usually cannot be resized, so get your size first.
People expect a full eternity band to cost a lot more than a half. On our list it mostly does not. Here is what actually changes.
What is the difference?
Where the diamonds stop. A half eternity has diamonds across the front half of the band, a three quarter goes most of the way round, and a full eternity goes all the way. Our Half Eternity Band runs its diamonds along the front in a shared prong setting, so it sits next to an engagement ring without competing with it.

Price follows carat weight more than coverage. A full band at the same weight uses smaller stones spread around the whole finger. If you want a full band with the same size stones as a half, it carries more carats, and that is what costs more.
Can an eternity band be resized?
Usually not. Cutting and stretching the band would break the line of stones, so an eternity band usually has to be remade instead, which costs more. That is the biggest practical difference between them.

Which one should I pick?
- Half if you want it to sit quietly next to an engagement ring and keep plain metal on the palm side.
- Full if you want diamonds from every angle and you are sure of your size.
- Three quarter if you want more sparkle than a half with a little plain metal left underneath.
