How Much Does a Hidden Halo Cost? Our Listed Prices

Short answer: On our listed Made To Order settings, a hidden halo adds $300 CAD to a solitaire or a cathedral and $100 CAD to a tulip basket, in 14K gold, before the centre diamond. An oval solitaire setting is $1,299 and the same setting with a hidden halo is $1,599. On a fully custom ring we quote it with the rest of your design.
The hidden halo is one of the details we get asked about most, and the price question usually comes right after. Here are the numbers from our own listings, as of October 2026.
What does a hidden halo add to the price?

Why is the difference smaller on a tulip basket?
With a solitaire or a cathedral, the hidden halo is the one extra detail on the ring. With a tulip basket it sits under petals that are already part of the setting, and the difference on our list is $100.
On a 4 petal tulip we always add a hidden halo, because it holds the setting together and gives it its support. A 6 petal tulip has that support built in, so there the halo is your choice. More in 4 petal vs 6 petal tulip baskets.
What else changes the price of a hidden halo ring?
- The centre diamond. Usually more than half the cost. A 2 carat lab grown diamond ran a median of $2,546 CAD in our June to September 2026 listings.
- The metal. On the solitaire, 18K gold adds $400 and platinum $600.
- A euroshank. The squared-off base of the band adds $200.
- Curved or coloured halos. A curved hidden halo follows the shape of the basket, and we have set coloured ones, like rubies under an oval. We quote those with your design.

Is a hidden halo worth the money?
It is worth it if you want a clean top view and a flash of sparkle when your hand turns. Skip it if you want the lowest possible setting or plain gold under the stone. We go through both sides in what a hidden halo is, and whether it is worth it.
What does it cost on a custom ring?
On a fully custom ring the hidden halo is quoted together with everything else, and hand engraving or a hidden gem each add to the price too.
