Engagement Ring Warranty: What It Should Cover

    Short answer: A good warranty covers manufacturing defects like casting flaws and loose settings, and says clearly what it excludes. Ours is a one year limited warranty from delivery: we repair manufacturing defects free, including shipping both ways, and replace lost accent diamonds. It excludes the centre stone, wear and tear, and any work done by another jeweller.

    Read the exclusions first. That is where warranties differ.

    What should a warranty cover?

    Manufacturing defects: structural casting issues, improper setting, prongs that were not set right. These usually show up in the first few months of wear.

    What does our warranty cover?

    • One year from the delivery date
    • Free repair of manufacturing defects
    • Lost accent diamonds replaced
    • Shipping both ways paid by us during the warranty

    What is excluded?

    • Loss, damage or theft of the centre stone
    • Accidents and hard wear: bent bands, crushed prongs, scratches
    • Any resize or repair by another jeweller, which voids it

    It is for the original purchaser and needs proof of purchase and photos.

    What happens after the first year?

    We still repair it, for a labour, materials and shipping fee, and we quote before any work starts.

    Should I insure my ring?

    Yes, because no jeweller's warranty covers loss or theft of the centre stone. Our $100 CAD third party appraisal gives your insurer an independent value.

    Usually not loss or theft of the centre stone. Ours replaces lost accent diamonds within one year.

    Does resizing void the warranty?

    Resizing with us keeps it. Work by another jeweller voids it.

    Do you repair rings after the warranty?

    Yes, for a quoted fee covering labour, materials and shipping.
