Anything from about 3 mm up. Daryll's marquise sits on a solid 4 mm flat band with engraving all the way round. Coley's moval and Cristhian's oval are on 3 mm half round bands, and Lee's radiant on a 3 mm half round in platinum. The other end matters too: we never go under 2 mm in gold, because gold thins over 20 to 30 years. More in band width and taper.
