A Forest Green Crushed Ice Diamond Engagement Ring

In this guide

Short answer: This is a 3 carat forest green oval with crushed ice faceting, green that is neither over saturated nor dull. The six claw prongs sit only on the east and west sides so the rounded ends of the oval show. It is set low, just above the finger, in a tulip basket, on a 3mm rounded band that opens into a split shank with kite side stones set into it.

We are getting more and more requests for coloured diamond rings, and this is one of our favourites.

Custom rings you will never find at your local big box store. This is a 3 carat fancy vivid green, not too overly saturated or too dull. It's set with these six claw prongs only on the east-west side, so you're seeing the rounded corners of the oval on the top and the bottom. Plus, we made sure it was super low profile, so you see the diamond is right above the finger, with this tulip basket on every single petal holding the whole stone together. Now on the side profile we went with a slightly chunkier 3mm rounded band that opens up into the split shank and we set a kite side stone right into the split shank connected to that middle petal over there. Everything with this ring is super secure, super low profile, super durable, but this top view right here, this is the money shot. The whole focus is on this forest green crushed ice diamond with these beautiful kite side stones and this slightly chunkier.

    The stone

A 3 carat oval with a forest green body colour and a crushed ice look. The colour is the hard part. Deep, saturated colours are easy to find. The balanced ones, not too saturated and not too dull, are where it takes patience. Our unique diamonds page shows the range, from forest green to blue green, which is the hardest to find.

    The setting

    • Prongs on the sides only. Six claw prongs on the east and west sides, so you see the rounded top and bottom of the oval.
    • Low profile. The stone sits just above the finger. Secure and easy to wear.
    • Tulip basket. Petals under the stone holding everything together.

    The band and side stones

A slightly chunkier 3mm rounded band that opens into a split shank. Kite side stones are set right into the split shank, connected to the middle petal. From the top, the green stone and the two kites are the whole picture.

How do I choose a coloured diamond?

    1. Decide on the tone before the carat. Colour drives the look far more than size.
    2. Always see video in real light. Colour on a screen is rarely accurate.
    3. Think about metal. Yellow gold warms colours, white gold keeps them true.

We also build with pink diamonds and sapphires and champagne diamonds.

    Questions we get about this

    Are green diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. A green diamond is a diamond with colour in the crystal, graded on the fancy colour scale.

What goes well with a green diamond?

Kite side stones in white diamond, a tulip basket, and yellow gold for warmth or white gold to keep the green true.

Can you find a specific shade of green?

Often. If it is not on the market, we can look at sourcing rough and having it cut to spec.

How much does a green diamond engagement ring cost?

A fully custom ring from us starts at about $4,000 USD, and most of the rings we build land between $4,000 and $5,000. Our Ready To Order settings start at $1,299 CAD, plus the diamond. The centre stone moves the price most: in September 2026 a 2 carat lab grown diamond ran about $2,500 CAD and a 3 carat about $2,700 CAD. Coloured stones vary a lot more than white ones, so we price them one stone at a time. Real numbers are in our cost guide.

    Are green diamonds rare?

Natural green diamonds are among the rarest colours. Lab grown and treated green stones exist too; we tell you plainly what a stone is.

What metal goes best with a green diamond?

Yellow gold warms the green toward olive; white gold or platinum keeps it cooler and truer.
