Flower Engraved Engagement Rings: Every Flower We Carve
By Clint Casmiro, Co-Founder, Smiro Studio · Updated October 22, 2026
Short answer: Flowers are our biggest group of engraving styles: 25 of our 56 named styles are floral. Peonies, orchids, lily of the valley, sunflowers, snowdrops, water lilies and cherry blossoms are all on the menu, and any flower you can show us in a photo can be drawn and carved by hand.
A flower is the easiest way to put meaning on a ring without words: her favourite, the one from the wedding, the one that grows where you met. Here is what we have carved, and how to choose.
Which flowers can be engraved on a ring?
Any flower with a shape you can recognise. The named ones in our catalogue:
| Flower | Where we have carved it |
|---|---|
| Peonies, orchids, snowdrops, lily of the valley | The band |
| Sunflowers | The band and the bridge |
| Cherry blossoms | The band and the bridge |
| Water lily, tulips and hearts, a floral branch | The bridge |
| Garden of flowers, large or minimalist flowers | The band |

How many flowers can fit on one band?
More than people expect. Daryll's ring carries 22 different flowers across a 4 mm flat band, with mountains on the shoulders. A narrower band holds a single vine or a repeat of one bloom. As a rule, the wider and flatter the band, the more distinct flowers it can show.

Can flowers go on the bridge instead of the band?
Yes, and it keeps the band clean for stacking. Emen and Rayyan's ring has three flowers on each side of the bridge, under a radiant in a thin bezel. Our bridge styles include sunflowers, cherry blossom, a floral branch and three flowers.

Should flowers be shaded or simple?
Shading means extra fine cuts inside each petal, which gives depth from close up. Simple outlines read more clearly from a distance and suit narrow bands. Our Flowers + Shading and 3D Flowers styles go deep; Minimalist Flowers and Skinny Floral stay light.
Can I engrave our birth flowers?
Yes. We have a full guide to birth flower engagement rings with the flower for each month. For floral mixed with scroll, our most popular style, see floral, vintage scroll or both.
