What makes an engagement ring floral?

Four things, alone or together:

Petals under the stone. Prongs opened into petals, so the side view is a flower. It goes by tulip basket, tulip setting, flower basket, petal setting or lotus setting.
Stones in the petals. Small diamonds or coloured gemstones set inside each petal.
Petal diamonds around the stone. Petal shaped diamonds circling the centre.
Leaves and flowers in the metal. Leaf prongs and hand engraving on the band or bridge.

The tulip basket, our floral setting

411 of the 714 custom rings in our design file, 58%, have a tulip basket. Six petals is the most popular; four petals sit on a hidden halo, a gallery rail or half petals. From the top it reads as a solitaire. What each part does is in what is a tulip setting, and every variation, with a photo, is in every tulip basket variation.

Petals with stones inside

Diamonds in the petals add sparkle you only catch from the side; 24 of our tulips have them, and our listed diamond petal rings start at $3,800 CAD with a 2 carat lab grown oval. Leaves, vines and a lotus

Leaf prongs are one of Clint's favourite details: nobody notices them until they look closely. Matt and Emily's 3.01 carat oval has leaf engraved prongs over a six tulip basket. Engraving goes further: on Sonam's ring we carved a lotus into the band for her heritage. Patterns are on hand engraving.

What a floral ring costs

Our tulip settings start at $2,199 CAD in 14K gold before the diamond, and complete tulip rings with a 2 carat lab grown diamond at $3,300 CAD. Half of our Canadian ring orders were quoted between $5,100 and $7,000 CAD, and our median US ring order is about $4,000 USD, centre stone included. Questions we get

What is a floral engagement ring?

A ring with a flower in the design: petals under the stone, stones in the petals, petal shaped diamonds around the centre, or leaves and flowers in the metal.

Is a flower basket setting the same as a tulip setting?

Yes. Flower basket, petal setting, tulip basket and tulip setting all describe prongs shaped into petals under the stone.

Can a floral ring have a lab grown diamond?

Yes. Our listed tulip rings come with a lab grown IGI certified centre diamond, and we quote natural too.

Will a wedding band sit flush with a floral ring?

Yes, when it is built at medium height with a bridge under the basket, which is how most of ours are made.

Do you ship floral rings across Canada and the US?

Yes. Free, insured FedEx door to door. US couples are quoted in US dollars.
